Quality Flooring Managed End to End

A consistent, predictable process makes life easier for you while guaranteeing the quality finish you deserve

01

Consultation and Measurement

We visit your location, take precise measurements, and assess the subfloor and environment. Our team will discuss the project, including the outcomes you want and the timeline to get there.

02

Material Selection

We will walk you through all the options available to suit your space and needs. From the type of flooring to colors and materials, we explain the benefits of each choice so you can find an option that fits your tastes and budget.

03

Subfloor Prep and Moisture Check

We test for moisture and repair any issues in the subfloor before any other work begins. This ensures the best surface for the new flooring to be installed on, ensuring that the final finish is as good as it can be, every time.

04

Acclimation

For wood-based flooring, this is an essential step scheduled into the timeline. We place the flooring in the room and give it time to adjust to your home’s humidity to avoid expansion or warping issues later.

05

Installation

After acclimation, if that step is required, we will install your chosen flooring. We use our own in-house teams of experienced, trained installers, following manufacturer guidlines and approved processes to produce a perfectly laid floor.

06

Final Walkthrough

We walk the finished floor with you, point out any areas to note and take on board any input you may have. We will rectify any issues you may have, while we don't close out the job until you're satisfied.

Choosing the Right Flooring for Your Space

Traffic

How much use will the floor see? A hallway will see more wear and tear than, say, a bedroom, so requires a harder-wearing flooring choice.

Environment

Does the environment require special features such as waterproof materials? A bathroom does, restricting your choice to suitable options.

Cost

Very few of us have unlimited budgets, so once we have established what properties the material needs, we find an option to suit your specific budget.

Style

We leave it for last, but only so we don't waste time looking at flooring that is not suitable. Here, we find the style that complements your home.

Professional Flooring Installation for Every Budget

Every project is unique; we offer upfront, no-obligation quotations for all our work, so you know where you stand. Here are the factors that impact the costs of your new flooring:

Square Footage

The bigger the room, the more materials are required and the longer it takes to install. Area of the room is the most impactful factor in overall cost.

Material Choice

Some materials, such as solid hardwood or natural stone tiles, cost significantly more than others, like carpet, laminate and vinyl per square foot.

Subfloor Conditions

If repairs are needed, any levelling compounds, moisture barriers, or other additional work all add costs to the overall project, but are essential if required to get a good finish.

Demo and Disposal

Removing existing flooring adds both labor cost and time to the project, resulting in additional costs, with some, such as tiles, requiring more work than others, such as a laminate floor.

Pattern and Layout Complexity

Going for a herringbone pattern or diagonal installs gives a very attractive finish, and intricate tile patterns can create a unique finish, but all require additional work and materials, adding costs too.

Furniture Moving

We understand it is not always practical for you to move furniture out before we work and offer furniture moving as a service to help. However, the additional time and labor do add to the overall project cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions? We have answers. If you don't see yours below, give us a call.

Do I need a permit for flooring installation?

In most cases, no. Flooring replacement of all kinds, whether hardwood, tile, laminate, vinyl or carpet, won’t require a building permit. We'll confirm during the estimate if your specific scope has any exceptions.

Can you match existing flooring in an adjacent room?

It depends on the floor. It is sometimes possible, but if the existing flooring is no longer made, or it is old wood that has changed color with age, it may be difficult to get a perfect match. We’ll be able to give an honest assessment of what is possible when we visit.

What happens if my subfloor has problems?

We carry out a full subfloor inspection prior to any installation, so we’ll highlight any issues before we begin your new flooring. If there are issues such as moisture, soft spots or instability, we will provide a separate quote, so you can make an informed choice on how to proceed.

Do I need to move my furniture before installation?

We can move standard furniture as part of the job if it is impractical for you to clear the room yourself. You will see this option included as a line item in your estimate. Extremely heavy items such as pianos, built-in cabinets or large appliances require coordination ahead of time.

How long does flooring installation take?

This depends on both the area of the project and the type of flooring. Some, such as tiles, take much longer than others, such as carpet or vinyl options. We provide a realistic timeline with our estimates, so you will know what to expect.

Do you subcontract installation work?

No. All installation is done by our own crew. We don't use day labor or subcontracted installers. The same team that gives your estimate is the team that shows up to install your floor.
